Pulling Myself Up By My Bootstraps

I was trying to figure out what streak I was going to add this year. I did my planking and I ranked my streaks, but I was stuck. Then I saw a Reddit post. I can’t even remember the specifics, but it was basically about this individually was able to dramatically increase their pull-ups in one year by just doing a ton of them. Like how I ramped up my push-ups.

I wouldn’t even say I have a plan or goal on how many pull-ups I want to do or for what reason other than to improve my upper body and abdominal strength.

So, in a flailing action of creating a new streak. On January 1, 2026. I did one pull-up.

That’s it. One. I have been able to do it in the past and I did it again.

On January 2nd. I did two pull-ups. They were not immediately consecutive, I rested on the floor for a second and then did another rep.

On the 3rd. I did three.

Do I think I can actually do 365 in one day by the end of the year?
When will I start to need to do multiple sets?
Shouldn’t I follow some sort of training regiment?

That’s a problem for future Tom.
