Let’s take a look at what has come out in theaters and what is left for the year.

Top Grossing movies of 2026

  1. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie: Kids didn’t want to see it.
  2. Michael: I didn’t want to see it.
  3. Project Hail Mary: Rare time I actually read the book. Loved it.
  4. Obsession: Family is too afraid. Dying to see it.
  5. The Devil Wears Prada 2: Watched with family, perfectly fine.
  6. Toy Story 5: Watched with family. Loved it.
  7. Backrooms: Watched with high schooler. Meh.
  8. Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu: Kids didn’t want to see it.
  9. Hoppers: Kids didn’t want to see it.
  10. Scream 7: Not into the Scream-a-verse.
  11. GOAT: Kids didn’t want to see it.
  12. Scary Movie: This is a movie I feel compelled to see, but am afraid of how cringe it will be.
  13. Zootopia 2: Saw with family. Very good.
  14. Wuthering Heights: No.
  15. Disclosure Day: Saw with family. Slightly above average, not great.
  16. Mortal Kombat II: Saw with friend, what you want from a MK movie.
  17. The Sheep Detectives: Couldn’t convince anyone to see it with me.
  18. Send Help: Saw with friend. Really good.
  19. Masters of the Universe: Saw with friend. Absolute trainwreck. No.
  20. Reminders of Him: Have never heard of this movie.
  21. The Drama: Slipped past me. Might not have been shown at my theater.
  22. Crime 101: Was intrigued. Didn’t make it.
  23. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy: Was not intrigued.
  24. Dhurandhar: The Revenge: Never heard of it.
  25. Iron Lung: Should have seen for the pop culture.
  26. Solo Mio: I’m not here for Kevin James.
  27. Primate: Wanted to see, no else wanted to.
  28. 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple: Saw with a friend. Really good.
  29. Mercy: No Chris Pratt. No.
  30. The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act: Saw on Netflix. Wonderful show. Highly recommend.

What Remains

I think this has been a better than expected year for movies, but still fairly average. I’ll need to start getting hyped for 2027.
