Sisu (2022)

Sisu (2022)

I saw Sisu in a 141-person Dolby Cinema at AMC Theater on Monday, May 1st, at 7:35 CT. I knew this movie would not have much time in the high-quality cinema with Guardians of the Galaxy 3 looming.

Brief Review

Another home run in Dolby Cinema.

Jalmari Helander puts together a beautifully shot and well-paced action thriller. Although the plot is not terribly groundbreaking, the action and cinematography are excellent. There were set pieces that were unexpected and a wonderful movie experience.

The mute protagonist is a perfect vessel for the viewer to experience the dread of World War II. You cheer for him against all odds and understand why he does what he does.

Although some scenes are a little over-the-top, to almost Crank levels, It was a pleasure.

No spoilers. Go see it!
