My family saw The Super Mario Bros. Movie in a 141-person Dolby Cinema at AMC theater on Sunday, April 16th at 4:55 CT. My wife and I received AMC A-List memberships for my birthday, and this was our first experience in a Dolby Cinema.

Brief Review
This is a kid’s movie.
There are jokes made in the movie about the fact that the plot is loosely tied together. For example, why does Peach make Mario go through an obstacle course? Why does Mario have to fight Donkey Kong? Why do the characters have to get on karts?
Shut up and enjoy your video game characters on the big screen!
I struggle to imagine someone unfamiliar with the franchise enjoying watching The Super Marios Bros. Movie. My wife said she enjoyed having more understanding of the characters from Mario Kart and Super Mario Party. But if you have zero ideas who these people are, there is not much here for you.
Not much besides the visual splendor on the screen. Watching this movie at Dolby Cinema, I was mesmerized by the level of detail. From mushroom pasta to the freckles on Mario’s face, I found Illumation’s product pleasant to the retina.
Jack Black plays a wonderful Bowser, and Peaches is a true earworm.
