Thoughts

This looks like another unexciting year of movies. Here are my tiers:

Day One Must Watch

  • Mickey 17 (March 17)
  • Friendship (May 9)
  • Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (May 23)
  • 28 Years Later (June 20)
  • Jurassic World Rebirth (July 2)
  • Avatar: Fire And Ash (December 19)

First Week Watch

  • Captain America: Brave New World (February 14)
  • Thunderbolts (May 2)
  • Superman (July 11)
  • The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25)
  • The Naked Gun (August 1)
  • Blade (November 7)
  • Zootopia 2 (November 26)

Willing to Give a Shot

  • The Monkey (February 21)
  • Sinners (April 18)
  • Ballerina (June 6)
  • F1 (June 27)
  • M3GAN 2.0 (June 27)
  • Untitled Trey Parker Film (July 4)
  • Nobody 2 (August 15)
  • The Toxic Avenger (August 29)
  • Saw XI (September 26)
  • Tron: Ares (October 10)
  • The Black Phone 2 (October 17)
  • Anaconda (December 19)

Would Watch with Friend or Family

  • Paddington in Peru (February 14)
  • The Bad Guys 2 (August 1)
  • Freakier Friday (August 8)
  • Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 (December 5)

There are only six movies that I’m excited about. I’m not even that excited about Jurassic World based on the trailer, but I’m a sucker for dinos. Also, only four of those movies are during my A-List window. Then, I would see four more movies in the window for pop culture’s sake. Then there are another 11 movies I would be willing to watch alone and two if someone else wanted to see it. That’s over 21 movies this summer. That justifies the price of A-List.

But, knowing that I will watch Avatar 3 at least twice, is that enough to warrant an A-List for an entire year? This winter, I have only spent money on one movie, and from the look of things, there are only two more movies that I am missing out on.

It doesn’t make sense monetarily to pay for the entire year, but having the option to see a movie as something to be excited about makes me think I will keep my subscription this year.
