Today is the day we see what the House, Senate, and President will look like. You should also participate in local elections, but our county has so many uncontested positions that it is pointless.
I have discussed my position on many issues and hope that Donald Trump does not become president again. I would also love for Democrats to have control of the House and Senate so that legislation could be passed. But, there appears to be little hope for the Senate, and losing all three is a terrifying possibility.
It scares me how much of our nation has fallen ill to poor education and close-mindedness. People don’t want to change and want something to blame when things don’t go their way.
The general trend is for people to become more conservative as they age. They want to protect their future at the cost of the nation’s future. However, we are also seeing an increase in young males becoming conservative.
Even if Harris wins, it does not appear to be by a landslide. That is what would be needed to help heal this nation. There is too much anger, hate, and ignorance remaining in America. Educated people will find other places to live, and the fearmongers will celebrate their departure. Blue states will become bluer and must figure out how to protect their citizens.
I hope people vote and understand that everyone should have equal rights.
